Did you ever notice…

rhapsody April 30th, 2007

That a lot of times,
people who claim that

they don’t believe in
God, don’t hesitate for
a nano second to use

His name in vain?

Why is that?

I wonder what HE thinks
about it?& what is
(ultimately,
of
course,)
going to be
done
about it?

Do you think they ever…
think about that?
Or, do you think that they
think that God is just some
superstition, for us stupid
people?

My goodness! What would
we do, &
where

would we be, without such
pompous a$$e$
to “educate”
us?

Anybody know?

Have noticed it, yes. And they do it not to call upon the Lord, although they accidentally do. They use the most Holy Name to sound cool, because their friends do it or it’s in the movies. And it becomes a habit.

A Hindu friend I had used to repeatedly say ‘Jesus’ without thinking. I told him to imagine that a giant in the sky turns around and looks down whenever he says that. He apologised and I never heard him use the Name again.

It’s kind of a paradox: they seem to be angry at God for not existing.

I see it as kind of a temper tantrum to get His attention: aggravating and sad at the same time.

Thank you both for your thoughtful replies.

I do know people who are respectful of our Lord, & people who aren’t – as we all do.

The ones who believe that THEY ARE in charge, are so sadly mistaken. & as odious as some people can be (even some of us who DO believe in God) – we have to pray for their conversion, as their souls are in peril.
