I’m surprised you haven’t blogged about the Pope’s visit yet.
I, for one, was very pleasantly surprised. I really appreciated his willingness to meet with people of other faiths, and to meet with victims of the sex abuse scandal. He was much more charismatic than I expected.
Hi Thomas,
I like Pope Benny very much, and was glad to have caught some of his visit. Plus I know a couple of people who got to see him, so that was exciting also.
I don’t know why, but sometimes people strike me a certain way – and what strikes me about PB is his joy, which I don’t sense that often. From what I understand, he didn’t want to be pope, but that’s not how it worked out for him.
& I say lucky us!
I bet when he was younger he thought about being Pope. One thing that I’m sure made it much harder for him: for him to become Pope, his best friend had to die. That would (pardon the language) suck.
